IoT Enablement 3rd Meeting
On Thursday, 12.07.2018, the third meeting of the IIC Research Group under the direction of Dirk Slama, Heiner Lasi and Daniel Burkhardt took place on the Bosch IoT Campus in Berlin. The overarching goal of the research group is to explore tools, techniques and procedures that help companies to build solutions in the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). In addition, new concepts, models, methods and solutions are to be developed which facilitate the integration of the IIoT for companies.
The meeting started with the presentation of the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) and its organization, structure and goals, followed by presentations of the public relations work of the Research Group and possible workshop concepts. Furthermore, a presentation of design science research was given and two participants introduced their research projects which were subsequently discussed. The focus of the first presentation was on a project management tool to support project managers in the IIoT and secondly, a platform for the virtual design of production facilities was presented.
In the second half of the meeting, the IIC Reference Architecture was presented by an IIC Working Group Lead, as well as forms of future collaboration and exchange with groups or individuals outside the Research Group were discussed. Finally, the participants planned next steps in the further cooperation. The next meeting will take place at the end of 2018.
